’Twas Brillig is the biography of the screenwriter William Rose, written by Tania Rose, his wife of twenty-four years, and the person who knew his writing career better than anyone. 

The narrative begins the day they met in 1943, and covers the next two and a half tumultuous decades during which the screenplays of some of last century’s most memorable films were written. These include Genevieve, The Ladykillers, The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming, Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner and, co-written with Tania, It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World.
